The acquisition provides us with new expertise, analytics and proprietary technology which is being used to provide risk management and optimisation services to help maximise the value of our clients’ renewable power. The acquisition also expanded Engelhart’s capabilities into physical natural gas across North America, a critical fuel to support the energy transition.

Commodities Trading Internship Programme

Four-Month Internship: 07 July – 06 November 2026

New York (full-time, on site)

Salary Range: $35 - 48 hourly based on academics, skills, and experience.

About the Internship

Engelhart’s Internship Programme is a unique opportunity designed to provide a strong basis for a role within commodities. We are offering one New York-based internship opportunity in 2026 for our West Power Desk.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be available to commence their four-month internship from July 07, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Desk to actively contribute to ongoing projects or activities.
• Engage closely with day-to-day operational processes, gaining hands-on exposure to challenges and ensuring that developed solutions effectively address current and future business needs.
• Providing operational support to the team as required.
• Get hands-on experience developing models.
• Engage in market research and analysis.
• Cultivate collaboration among team members to achieve common goals and objectives.

About You

Skills

Across our 2026 internship programme, we are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to grow and contribute to a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment and have a keen interest in commodities. The following experiences and skills are essential for application:

• Strong academic background in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• A high level of proficiency with Python and Excel.
• Demonstrable experience in time-series data analysis.
• Business-level English proficiency.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• High attention to detail and confidence working with large datasets.
• A strong interest in commodities markets.
• Previous exposure to commodities or trading environments is highly advantageous.
