POSITION INFORMATION
Job Summary:
The postion is responsible for creating 2D and 3D layouts using NX software to assist Project Engineers with quoting automation concepts for industrial manufacturing cells. ENGEL injection molding machine robot peripherals such as feeders, conveyors, box servers, etc. (such as feeders, conveyors, box servers, and other auxiliary automation equipment). Many of the peripherals are predesigned. Must be able to take sketches of concepts and translate to functioning models in order to provide proof of concept and visual display for customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create 2D and 3D layouts/concepts

Work with Project Engineers on requirements

Abide by ANSI and OSHA safety and general industrial positioning standards

Be able to rework based on PE/customer feedback

Be able to create new peripheral designs from scratch

Maintain CAD Database of Peripherals
-
Work with mechanical engineers to maintain functional database of ENGEL and 3rd party peripheral equipment to facilitate faster concept creation.

Project Engineer Support

Attend customer meetings on request, and assist in presenting concept to an audience

Perform miscellaneous tasks
-
Maintain layout list database for easy future reference

Continuously update knowledge of relevant standards and best practices
-
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Educational/Training Requirement:
-
Associate degree or higher in CAD drafting or related technical field
Experience:
-
3 years relevant experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
CAD program experience NX, Ideas, Solidworks, AutoCAD
-
Knowledge of relevant ANSI safety and ergonomic standards
-
Knowledge of basic mechanical/pneumatic protocols
-
Able to handle fast paced environment and adhere to performance quotas

Proficient in MS Office

Working knowledge in mechanical design realistic support structures, working envelopes of robots, etc.

Team player

Creative solution maker for industrial applications

Good communication skills with all levels of personnel including: engineers, management, and customers

This role requires sitting, operating a computer and keyboarding for more than two hours at a time on a regular basis. Occasional exposure to mechanical equipment which has the potential to provide a work hazard; safety glasses are required to be worn when on the factory floor as a preventive measure.
