Role Description The Account Representative is a full-time, mix of in office and outside sales role based in Santa Maria, CA. This position is responsible for managing and growing customer accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for clients in industries such as waste and recycling, agriculture, landscape, and more. Day-to-day tasks include responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, coordinating service schedules, and ensuring accurate and timely follow-up. The Account Representative will proactively identify customer needs, recommend appropriate services (such as composting, trucking, and roll-off solutions), and support sales activities to drive account growth. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in company systems, collaborating with operations and dispatch teams, and assisting with customer education and training on available services and solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong account management and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and clear, professional correspondence.
- Sales and negotiation abilities to identify opportunities, present solutions, and support revenue growth.
- Experience providing customer training or onboarding on services, processes, or products is beneficial.
- Previous experience in industrial services, waste and recycling, agriculture, transportation, or related fields is a plus.
- Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM or order-entry systems).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
