Position Purpose:

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of Community Engagement activities related to Planning and Community Development and supervises community engagement specialists. Duties include collaborating with Community Engagement Leader to develop, implement, and oversee outreach and engagement strategies to solicit and strengthen community engagement while providing daily support to community engagement specialists. Assist with writing and presenting final reports and presentations. The Community Engagement Manager will also prepare and present updates regularly to relevant leadership channels, ensuring that our goal of innovation is being achieved, and assist in business development activities such as RFP submissions, team interviews, etc. with guidance from Community Engagement Leader.


Competencies/Duties:

  • Collaborate with Community Engagement Leader to develop, implement, and oversee outreach and engagement strategies to solicit and strengthen community engagement.
  • Assist clients with implementing specific project initiatives.
  • Oversee and assign projects to community engagement staff.
  • Prepare and present reports including narratives, graphs, tables, and other visuals necessary to present data collected/analyzed.
  • Collaborate with Planning and Community Development team to write and evaluate RFPs for future projects.
  • As requested, on behalf of the client, organize and facilitate meetings with organizations, targeted stakeholders, and the public.
  • Respond to public inquiries related to the assigned project or client in accordance with project protocols.
  • Provide information and education regarding the assigned projects/issues.
  • Implement public relations strategies designed to influence the public’s opinion and promote concepts and programs.
  • Identify barriers and issues precluding the effectiveness of the program/concept relating to the project and exploring solutions to overcome those barriers.
  • Achieve established goals for the assigned project through collaboration and teamwork, etc.
  • Ensure project outcomes promote the Engaging Solutions’ brand identity with the goal to establish and maintain business contacts.
  • Work collaboratively with the Planning and Community Development leadership team.
  • Support project budget development and oversight.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

Position Requirements/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and varied projects and tasks;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet internal and client deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people for all levels including stakeholders, management, and the public;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Must possess or be able to obtain upon appointment a valid driver’s license in the State of Indiana and have a good driving record;
  • Ability to work well in a team;
  • Solid track record of setting and meeting goals;
  • Solid affinity for networking and building strategic relationships;
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines;
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently;
  • Ability to manage a diverse team
  • Proven efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and internet.

Education, Work Experience, Licensure:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Marketing and Communications, Psychology, Public Health, Communication, Urban Planning, Community Development, Master Planning, Comprehensive Plans, Public Policy, or a field related, preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience required
  • 2 or more years of project management experience preferred
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage and support all community engagement specialists.


Environment/Physical Demands:

This position requires periodic travel to meet with client resources and assist with events. Sedentary activities like driving, extensive reading, and computer work are required, applicants must have the ability to sit for long periods of time. Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles. office equipment such as computer, fax, copiers, etc. Ability to continuously stand or walk. Ability to lift up to 10-25 pounds, occasionally.

Salary : $72,000 - $75,000
