Description:Lab TechI. Job Summary / Job Purpose (Safety-Sensitive)Under direct supervision, conducts routine tests in clinical laboratories for use in treatment and diagnosis of diseases.II. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare specimens for microscope examination using standard techniques and equipment.Perform testing and reports test results in urinalysis, hematology and chemistry.Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states.Prepare slides as necessary for microscopic analysis in hematology.Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.Follow quality control policies and documents quality control activities.Maintain instruments and equipment.Call critical values to providers per policy.Resolve pending reports at end of shift.Communicate to day shift any issues/problems to address.Perform other duties as assigned.III.
