The Sr. HR Business Partner plays a critical role in HR service delivery and successful client experience across an assigned group of clients. The role blends HR expertise, client advisory, and compliance oversight to support client engagement and satisfaction. Works closely with colleagues in HR Services (HRCs) and Account Management to collaborate on the delivery of the ‘Expect More’ service model.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver HR services in accordance with established SOPs and expectations outlined with the legal team.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to client contacts on all HR matters.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives, growth, and change initiatives.
- Guide clients on organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, and compensation philosophy.
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns with client management.
- Participate in workplace investigation and documentation associated with communicated employee concerns, EEOC, Wage and Hour and/or NLRB claims.
- Leverage client policies, practices and handbook content to provide consultation in resolution of conflicts.
- Provide guidance to client contacts with information needed to make necessary decisions concerning workplace matters.
- Assist clients with navigating difficult employee termination transactions and assist with separation documentation.
- Develop performance appraisal tools/forms in collaboration with client.
- Provides recommendations on the recruiting process, including applicant sources and assessment tools to maximize opportunity for applicant flow, selection of the best candidates to fill job vacancy and employee retention.
- Develop and deliver manager and employee training programs.
- Develop and produce customized job descriptions, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
- Obtain, analyze, and present market compensation data
- Provide guidance on leave of absence requirements and handle escalated cases from the Leave Management team.
- Coordinate client needs with colleagues from Payroll, Benefits, and Risk, as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the legal team on EPLI claims, as needed.
- Document client engagements in CRM and complete tasks as assigned by established workflows.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and ensure a smooth transition into PEO partnership.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide oversight and quality assurance on investigations, recommendations, and documentation prepared by HRBP I and II team members.
- Support sales in the proposal process when requested.
- Maintain positive working relationships with assigned client contacts.
- Stay current on employment legislation and HR trends impacting clients and internal operations.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of internal processes and workflows.
- Maintain consistency in actions, methods, and outcomes. Make recommendations to continuously improve the process and client experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of human resources experience, PEO/HRO is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and change management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate as appropriate.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or oversight.
- Track record for delivering exceptional customer service.
- HR certification, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, HRIS, and reporting applications.
COMPENSATION:
The starting base pay for this position is listed below. However, you should know that the pay rate may vary based on regional location, the candidate’s skill, and relevant experience. In addition, some positions may include a form of bonus or other incentive compensation, which would not be included in this salary range.
Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000
