Position Overview
STOWE Early Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Start Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the growth of the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Use developmentally appropriate practices to support children’s learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and observations to individualize instruction and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with families, support staff, and community partners to promote family engagement and student success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Head Start and district guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
- CTDOE Early Childhood Certification.
- Experience working in a Head Start or early childhood setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
