Summary
The Cold Storage Forklift/Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for driving and operating Enfield Farms Forklift/Pallet Jacks in the cold storage, Dry storage and production facilities. Along with helping load and unload shipments manually if necessary. Must be 18 .
Job Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Transport finished goods/ raw materials to and from buildings and Freezers throughout Enfield farm.
- Complete pallet inspections
- Load and unload product from trailers
- Inspect and clean inside of trailer prior to and after each use.
- Maintain house keeping in Freezers, loading docks, staging areas and dry storage areas.
- Be able to operate and understand tracking scanners and the tracking process.
- Work as a team
- Understand the importance of good communication.
- Be aware of your surrounding and report issues to your supervisor
Work Environment
Works in low temperatures of cold storage facility when helping load finished goods and raw material. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (non-weather) conditions. The employee occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), in high places, near toxic or caustic chemicals, in outdoor weather conditions, in risk of electrical shock. Machinery and tool operation require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; cold storage wear, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, etc. Employee frequently works in moderate to loud environments.
Physical Demands
Employee required to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Employee frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Employee occasionally required to climb or balance.
