Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer I performs activities that ensure customer contractual compliance, continual quality improvements to products, services, and systems; and corporate compliance to ISO9001/AS9100. Activities are focused around assuring product is compliant and customer expectations are met.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Technical unbiased voice to and from the customer regarding Quality matters and expectations with support from QE II or the Quality Manager
• Responsible for FAI, customer and government source inspections
• Creating product and process quality plans
• Determines the controls on production devices directly affecting the quality of the product
• Review changes to the product, processes and materials
• Reviews Drawings (that include GD&T) and process instructions for accuracy, risk and completeness
• Assist/resolve Quality in-process issues
• Monitors product/process performance for trends in efforts to prevent the generation of defective material or opportunities for improvement
• Supports internal and external quality and or process audits
  
  

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent or 2 years’ experience in the field of Quality (ASQ certifications are a plus).
• Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System standard (AS9100 is a plus)
• Adept with standard measuring equipment.
• Basic understanding of statistics.
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
