This position supports the EnerSys Operating System (EOS) transformation efforts. This position implements and supports actions that bring about improvements to operations and processes which may include, but are not limited to, safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, growth, margin expansion and inventory levels.
Projects will be integrated with the region / plants leandeploymentefforts and meet the guidelines, criteria and metrics established by the business.

1) Executing against long and short-term objectives to support EOS goals.
2) Lead weekly MDI Department meeting goals for the department
3) Help locate and identify with team leaders and managers on what tags need to be populated/ created to ensure that next steps are taken to make a difference and change the needle for improvements.
4) Working with necessary plant personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
5) Assisting in the change of systems/processes as required in support of the EOS initiatives.
6) Learn value stream mapping techniques to design optimal information, material, and production flow methods.
7) Act as a change agent to bring about improvements in process through the active support, participation in leadership of Rapid Improvement Events; includes:
a) Owning pre and post standard work.
b) Participating in facilitating projects/events.
c) Participate in MDI gemba walks.
d) Be the change agent who leads A3s and RIE/Blitz RIEs
8) Help update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boards.
9) Conduct cycle time analysis, time studies, work balance/flow improvements, work place analysis and improvement.
10) Help develop more efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service.
11) Regular in person attendance with on time arrival/departure. Required to work irregular hours on short notice. Punctuality and dependability are job requirements.
12) Work with the EOS Coordinator to decide on which projects will be assigned within the department based on experience and timeframes.
13) Help implement 5S Standards and work with Team Leaders on ordering pieces needed for the department to sustain and gain next level status for their 5S. Become an auditor to pinpoint items that need to be corrected for the better good of the group.
14) Fabrication Experience is vital for building, maintaining, and purchasing equipment to outfit our location to better the line for one-piece flow, and or modifications to the lines to make it better for the operators.
15) Working with the EOS Administrator on tasks assigned down to them from RIE/MDI events to put actions into place.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or the equivalent
- 24 montsh manufacturing experience
- Successful demonstration of Lean thinking and teamwork
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiplies and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Possess above average written and verbal communication skills; be able to demonstrate strong computer skills in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of data-based metrics and have proven MS proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A two year degree in a related field or at least 3 years' experience in a process improvement functions or 3 years' experience in a manufacturing facility.
