Energy Transport Logistics is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day to day operations for our transportation company.
Job Summary:
Following completion of the accounting transformation to PE-standard processes, this steady-state operational role is essential to maintain our established accrual accounting systems, manage the monthly close cycle, and supervise the accounting staff. The position will be hybrid and report to the Controller.
Core responsibilities include:
- Own and drive a timely month-end close
- Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
- Deliver monthly financial packages with variance analysis vs. budget/forecast
- Partner with Controller on audit readiness and external audit coordination
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce close cycle time and improve accuracy
- Manage and develop a team of accounting staff, including performance reviews, coaching, and compensation recommendations.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 4 years progressive experience including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in all core functions including accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles. Experience working in accounting ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central and Sage Intacct.
- TMS (Transportation Management System) experience and transportation/logistics industry background, multiple entities and/or locations is a plus.
