Manager - Product Support

Key Business Objectives:

The Product Support Manager reports to the Director of Engineering. The position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and executing activities related to 1st time start-up on new fleet equipment, and commissioning & warranty services for manufactured sold equipment. The role will be required to be forward facing with personnel from the following USA Compression departments: Fleet & Engineering, Commercial & Operations, Manufacturing, and Aftermarket Service. The role will also be required to be forward facing with external Customer representatives, service vendors, and suppliers. All USA Compression employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, schedule, and execute 1st time start-up activities for new USA Compression fleet equipment.
• In conjunction with the Fleet Technical Services Manager, coordinate Compression Specialist personnel to perform on site supervision for all 1st time start-up activities.
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all 1st time start-up activities.
• Complete and submit all OEM commissioning & warranty documentation.
• Perform all ERP system process steps as required for 1st time start-up.
• Coordinate, schedule, and execute commissioning & warranty activities or services for new USA Compression manufactured sold equipment.
• Work with the Manufacturing Commercial team to provide technical guidance for commissioning services proposal generation.
• In conjunction with the Fleet Technical Services Manager, coordinate Compression Specialist personnel to perform on site supervision for all commissioning & warranty activities or services.
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all commissioning & warranty activities or services.
• Complete and submit all OEM commissioning & warranty documentation.
• Work with the USA Compression Manufacturing Quality Assurance and Engineering teams for corrective action and product improvement implementation.
• Complete and submit all USA Compression Manufacturing quality assurance documentation for processing warranty claim submissions.
• Perform all ERP system process steps as required for commissioning & warranty activities or services.
• Ensure projects are efficiently organized and seamlessly executed from start to finish.
• Review and approve all purchases for project travel, material, and labor related expenses.
• Oversee development and goal setting for the team.
• Develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
• Ensure projects are efficiently organized in order to minimize travel and response time.
• Assist in the coordination of and provide technical support to Operations, Engineering, Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing personnel.
• Review forecast and manage scope, schedule, and budget providing reports in various formats.
• Provide support or lead miscellaneous projects to achieve company goals as required.
• Manages subordinates in performing their job duties in a safe and efficient manner providing mentoring and development as needed.
• Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills / Capabilities and Education:

• Bachelor's degree (preferable), technical, or trade school certification, or 8 years minimum experience in related field
• Proficient in Microsoft's suite of applications particularly Word and Excel.
• Experience working in SAP is preferred.
• Customer service oriented.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Strong clerical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to perform in a high stress environment.
• Travel is required up to 50-60% of the time worked.
• Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 pounds.
• Ability to spend most of the time sitting or standing in a comfortable position with ample opportunity to move about.
• Ability to read and interpret data as well as having the capacity to professionally and effectively communicate (verbally and written) with both company and outside personnel.
• Exposure to noise levels in excess of 85dBA, potentially hazardous chemicals and materials, and extreme weather conditions.
• Working conditions in natural gas compression vary from one job site to another. Some job sites are indoors in compressor stations while other sites are outside, exposed to a variety of weather conditions. The work environment may be in hazardous locations.
• There is a strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.
