Energy Project Solutions (EPS) is an energy consulting firm that helps partners deliver efficient, high-value projects through localized expertise and real-world insight. With more than 500 years of collective experience, our team leads complex energy developments from inception through construction, bringing deep knowledge across engineering, real estate, business development, and finance while leveraging strong relationships with developers, owners, financial institutions, and property owners nationwide.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical installation experience to support utility-scale renewable projects including solar, BESS, and wind. In this role, you'll lead onsite oversight of pile driving, tracker installation, module placement, inverters, and BESS mechanical systems, ensure work aligns with plans and specifications, support QA/QC efforts, and help keep construction activities safe, efficient, and on schedule. You'll coordinate with EPC partners, OEMs, and subcontractors, support inspections and site walks, resolve field issues, and maintain clear documentation while serving as EPS's onsite representative.

Location & Travel Requirement: This is a full-time, onsite role. Candidates must be available to work five days per week at project sites in the outside the greater Phoenix area.

What You’ll Do

  • Leading day-to-day onsite oversight of the installation of piles, trackers, modules, inverters, and BESS mechanical systems on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Monitoring the delivery, staging, and tracking of Owner Supplied Equipment and mechanical materials onsite.
  • Ensuring mechanical QA/QC of pile, tracker, inverter, and BESS mechanical installation to verify work is completed safely and according to project specifications.
  • Interfacing with OEMs and commissioning teams to coordinate installation requirements, resolve technical issues, and support system startup activities.
  • Managing mechanical NCRs and corrective actions, including root cause analysis and resolution tracking.
  • Tracking testing and turnover documentation throughout the project lifecycle to support mechanical completion and closeout.
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Conducting regular site walks to monitor installation progress, identify potential issues, and help keep projects on schedule.
  • Reviewing work plans, construction methods, safety procedures, and schedules for mechanical and general construction activities.
  • Supporting inspections, punch walks, permit closeouts, and compliance activities.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation related to site conditions, inspections, field decisions, and project progress.
  • Serving as EPS's onsite representative while building strong working relationships with clients, utilities, AHJs, EPCs, contractors, and community stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experienced construction professional with a mechanical engineering background and familiarity with solar, BESS, or wind projects.
  • Skilled at coordinating multiple trades and managing mechanical scopes including pile driving, tracker systems, and inverter installation in a fast-paced field environment.
  • You have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.
  • Strong communicator who builds trust with EPC partners, OEMs, utilities, and internal teams.
  • Excellent at documenting meetings, decisions, and site changes.
  • Able to pass a background check, motor vehicle screening, and pre-employment drug test.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, and construction scheduling tools.
  • Safety trained for field work (OSHA 10).
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites across the United States.

Nice to Have

  • EIT or PE licensure.
  • Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, or wind construction.
  • Direct experience with pile installation, tracker systems, or BESS mechanical integration.
  • Experience interfacing with OEMs during installation and commissioning.
