JOB SUMMARY

The Participant Support Specialist plays a key role in participant engagement, support, and education across Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) programs, including Community Solar, Bill Payment Assistance, and EOC’s energy efficiency programs serving multifamily, single-family, and nonprofit buildings. This position serves as a frontline representative of EOC, managing participant communications at both an individual and large-scale level, processing applications, and program data, coordinating education and outreach efforts, and supporting community and offsite events.

 

The Specialist ensures that participants receive timely, compassionate, and clear support, helping to build a more energy-literate and connected community. This position requires regular in-office work 3–4 days per week. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish.

 

Essential Functions

 

Participant Communication & Education

  • Serve as the primary contact for participant communication
  • Create bulk communication campaigns (email, text, etc.) to past participants, including pulling, cleaning, and managing participant data for outreach lists
  • Coordinate digital education activities, support in content creation for educational materials
  • Coordinate translation and digital accessibility efforts for participants

 

Program Support & Application Processing

  • Assist with intake, processing, and management of applications for programs as needed
  • Respond to applicant questions and ensure timely documentation and communication across departments
  • Provide follow-up support and database support to all programs as needed
  • Administer and report on participant surveys across all EOC programs to assess satisfaction, impact, and experience

 

Communications & General Support

  • Support Communications activities through social media posting, calendar management, light copy writing
  • Support outreach activities through calendars, logistics, and collateral prep
  • Assist in material supply tracking and ordering for education materials
  • Provide flexible support as needed across the full organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Spanish language fluency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and empathy
  • Proven customer services skills to include the ability to work with participants facing difficult circumstances
  • Experience managing data lists for bulk communications (e.g., email campaigns)
  • Proficient in basic survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Google Forms), marketing software, and dashboard/reporting tools
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong commitment to EOC’s mission and values

 

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 1-2 years’ experience in communications, outreach, customer service, or administrative support
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and electronic communications
  • Experience with program tracking, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Spanish language fluency

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about energy conservation and serving income-qualified community members
  • Creative thinker and strong collaborator     
  • Marketing and communications experience specifically with bulk emails, social media, etc.

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Valid Driver's License required or the ability to be present to meet at various locations, and times as required
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, talking, hearing

 Work Environment

  • Hybrid – 3-4 days per week in downtown Denver office location, remainder from employee’s home

Salary Range: $64,000 - $69,000. annual equivalent, plus a language stipend for qualified candidates
