Account Manager Job Description
The Account Manager aims to sell the entire offering to current and prospective customers, including field operations and maintenance, midstream operations, and machine shop/engine shop/valve shop services. The role is accountable for achieving sales goals for named accounts and within a defined geography by growing the share of existing customers through the sale of all product and service offerings and acquiring new customers by providing consultative solutions. The role is expected to provide a mix of strategic and tactical solutions in a business-to-business selling environment. The focus is on the acquisition, penetration, and retention of customers.
All the above attributes are founded on high levels of communication and relationship-building skills to ensure that all the client's needs are understood and addressed promptly. The Account Manager will report directly to the Home Leader and company President.
Travel is required to customer locations, which means that the Account Manager must meet all HSE and personal protective equipment requirements.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Research existing accounts, identify opportunities for expanding product offerings, and ensure accounts are managed according to Energy Link's business objectives.
- Research and qualify prospective accounts, including identifying the purchasers, influencers, and key buying behaviors.
- Brainstorm with management to develop fresh ways to maintain a strong, positive relationship with clients.
- Develop sales strategies, including comparing and evaluating services to make appropriate recommendations based on needs analysis of the existing/prospective account.
- Conduct presentations, negotiate pricing, and present the contract to close the sale
- Coordinate and collaborate with Operations, estimators, and Senior Management internally on proposal development and closing of the sale.
- Report to management market fluctuations and competitive research.
- Resolve complaints and keep track of all processes that pertain to the client's needs and requirements throughout the project's delivery.
- Act as a link between the company and clients to ensure all their needs are being met and that they're satisfied with the work Energy Link provides.
- Work closely with the sales teams, Product Managers, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure the overall team's function exceeds customers' needs and expectations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge and practice of opportunity development, quoting, negotiation, proposal, order award, and hand over to Order Management.
- Identifying, securing, and assigning resources to deliver quotes within scope and timelines.
- Ability to create and manage processes within proposal and bid management.
- Ability to lead a team within a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to define the problem, assess the risks, and develop recommendations for action plans. Furthermore, must be able to execute the action plan, focus on and guide others to accomplish the plan, and drive change where necessary.
- Manage the execution of contractual agreements with customers to ensure compliance.
- Strong team player, results-driven, and customer-focused.
- Excellent communication, influence, and presentation skills.
- Well organized, structured, and methodical.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat as they relate to job usage.
- Ability to navigate and manipulate CRMs.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
