We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircraft Piston Engine Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and upkeep to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on general aviation aircraft such as Beechcraft, Cessna, Piper, and Mooney. This role requires expertise in piston engine maintenance, airframe repairs, and electrical systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to ensure aircraft safety and performance. Right candidate must have his Airframe and powerplant licenses and be able to commute to Cleburne, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on general aviation aircraft, including piston engines, airframes, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine-related issues using schematic reading and electrical testing techniques.
  • Install and maintain simple avionics systems, such as Avionics AV-30 and Garmin 275, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Execute repairs on various aircraft systems, including but not limited to engines, airframes, and electrical components.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work in compliance with FAA standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a piston aviation maintenance facility or flight school.
  • Proven expertise in maintenance and repair of general aviation aircraft, including Beechcraft, Cessna, Piper, and Mooney.
  • Strong skills in electrical testing and schematic reading (highly ).
  • Experience with avionics installation (e.g., Avionics AV-30, Garmin 275) is a plus.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of repairs, including airframe, electrical, and engine systems.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and standards for aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of modern avionics systems and their integration.
  • Previous experience in a flight school or busy general aviation maintenance facility.
