Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Propane Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting and delivering propane to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, familiarity with various types of trucks, and a commitment to safety and customer service. The position requires a valid commercial driver’s license and experience with truck driving in different configurations such as tanker, flatbed, refrigerated trailer, dump truck, or roll-off truck.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate propane delivery trucks, including tractor-trailers, tankers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload propane cylinders or tanks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Drive route schedules efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper securing of loads during transit to prevent accidents or spills.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on delivery vehicles to maintain safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during routes.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies.
- Follow all safety protocols related to handling hazardous materials like propane.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving, including commercial driving in various configurations such as tanker, flatbed, refrigerated trailer, or roll-off trucks.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, especially with route driving involving freight load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Prior experience with dump trucks or tractor-trailers is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to transporting hazardous materials like propane. Candidates should demonstrate excellent driving skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo efficiently and safely.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
