Meter Repair Technician
Wage: Non-Exempt
Job Description:
Energy Economics is hiring meter technicians. These technicians will assist the meter prep line, repair and calibration of gas meters for the natural gas industry. EEI offers 4-day / 10-hour and 5-day / 8-hour shifts. Both shifts have available overtime opportunities but not mandatory. All training is provided at full wages. The work consists of meter preparation for the repair technicians. This position will also repair meters on an as needed.
Duties:
- Disassemble and prep meters for the repair process.
- Clean exterior of meter, disassemble and reassemble various brands of meters in accordance with customer specifications.
- Repair, test, and calibrate diaphragm meters, or work in a supporting capacity as needed.
- Log work performed on computer.
- Work efficiently and safely in a team environment to continuously improve the organization.
- Ability to work independently.
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Physical ability to work on feet for long periods of time and the ability to lift and manipulate large meters.
- Must be committed to quality and possess basic understanding of mechanics, basic mathematical calculations, and computer operation.
- Experience with hand tools (hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, pneumatic tools, etc.).
- Job week consists of four ten-hour workdays with optional overtime on Fridays.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and communicate well with management.
