Join our dynamic team as an Energy Efficiency & Weatherization Technician and play a vital role in improving building performance through sustainable and cost-effective solutions. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for assessing, installing, and maintaining energy-saving measures in residential properties across Virginia. Your expertise will help clients reduce energy consumption, enhance comfort, and contribute to environmental conservation. This paid role offers a rewarding opportunity to develop technical skills while making a tangible impact on community sustainability. We cover a 2.5 hour radius from Richmond VA. Must hold a valid drivers license and have reliable transportation. All drive time is paid for.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Install insulation materials, including fiberglass, cellulose, and other weatherization products, following specifications and safety protocols.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment safely and effectively to complete installation tasks.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as caulking, spray foam, weatherstripping, drywall, and painting to enhance building envelope integrity.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously, including power tool safety practices and climbing protocols when working at heights.
- Communicate clearly with clients to explain work processes, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with team members on site activities to ensure a smooth install.
Qualifications
- Experience with building insulation installation and weatherization techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC or ventilation is a plus.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools with a focus on safety protocols.
- Basic math skills for measurements, estimations, and calculations related to construction projects.
- Physical ability to climb ladders or scaffolding regularly; comfortable working at heights when necessary.
- Strong adherence to safety standards including power tool safety procedures and site safety protocols.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain technical work clearly and professionally.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
