Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Hip Hop Dance Teacher to inspire and motivate students from ages 5-18. In this role, you will lead engaging hip hop dance classes, develop creative choreography, and foster a positive learning environment that encourages self-expression and confidence. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant personality, a strong background in dance, and a commitment to fostering kids' confidence and growth in an upbeat class setting weekly. Full night(s) of teaching guaranteed with plenty of room for growth. Experience in competitive dance would be ideal and experience with other dance styles is a plus! However, the studio is committed to hiring an energetic instructor regardless.
Responsibilities
- Lead teach weekly classes in classes that are grouped by age and level. Run classes with warmup, across the floor and combo choreography.
- Lead energetic dance classes that emphasize technique, rhythm, creativity, and performance skills.
- Develop original choreography for performances. Help is available for choreography (if needed) and room for growth is possible in multiple classes and choreo avenues.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and individual expression.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
- Collaborate with our other teachers and directors to foster an environment of fun and confidence
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching hip hop dance or related performing arts disciplines.
- Strong choreography skills with the ability to create innovative routines for different skill levels.
- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain an energetic yet disciplined environment.
- Experience working with children, teens, or adults in educational or recreational settings.
