As an R&D Associate Manager on the Energizer Battery R&D Team, you will lead a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians to develop and implement product improvements key to maintaining our industry leading position. Scope of work includes leading and coordinating improvement projects and maintaining a robust product performance roadmap. You will provide a key role in leading a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional partners including marketing, procurement, operations, and quality assurance.

Accountabilities
- Manage engineers, scientists, and technicians to develop and implement innovative new products and current product improvements that meet time, cost, and performance objectives.
- Manage performance, empower others, and develop talent
- Provide project and team leadership, from conception to launch, and communicate updates across cross-functional teams and to senior leadership.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Support surety of supply strategy and projects.
- Investigate concepts for battery performance, reliability, and cost improvement to influence R&D strategy and product performance roadmaps.
- Interact with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, operations, legal, and external third parties as needed to reach objectives.
- Refine internal processes and ways of working to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Mentor team members and possible successors.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4 years of experience in an R&D or equivalent setting with a track record of product improvement.
- Minimum of a BS in Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or relevant scientific discipline.
- Ability to comprehend business objectives and work independently to solve problems in the most efficient manner possible.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions and determine strategies based on data.
- Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of product development systems and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience managing engineers and/or technicians directly or indirectly
- Experience in battery systems or other related consumer goods products.
- Stage Gate Protocol, Design for Six Sigma, Statistics and Design of Experiments

Working Relationships & Environment
Working Relationships & Environment
Reports to R&D Sr. Manager. Key relationships will include R&D team, Marketing, Procurement, external suppliers, and Operations groups.
Working conditions are primarily an R&D office with some laboratory and manufacturing plant exposure. The use of proper PPE is required during laboratory work and in manufacturing locations.
Travel, including international, up to 10% is required. The employee will also be expected to participate in occasional teleconference meetings with global colleagues in different time zones.
