What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Fitter (Day Shift) position at Enerflex Ltd.?
Summary
The Instrumentation Fitter Level IV will coordinate the daily activities with its direct supervisor or assistant supervisor per assigned project. He is responsible for coaching lower-level instrument fitters and ensures assigned deliverables are completed by project schedules. Focused on the completion of instrumentation work accurately, within budget, and to a high-quality standard. Responsible for installing tubing to gas compressors, engines, pneumatic valves, hydraulic equipment, pressure instruments, and installing tubing tray on skids to meet customer specifications in a neat, timely, and accurate manner. Able to perform with minimal supervision.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Ability to read P&ID, General Arrangement or any other technical drawings to perform installation.
- Ability to measure, cut and install tubing tray layout.
- Ability to fabricate instruments and tubing supports per specifications.
- Ability to measure and bend 1/4”,3/8”, 1/2", 3/4"and 1” tubing based on the specifications of the drawings to fit the design.
- Proficient in the use of tools of the trade.
- Install tubing to gas compressors, engines, pneumatic valves, hydraulic equipment, pressure instruments.
- Knowledge of Gas Compressors and Engines.
- Coordinate daily activities with supervisor or assistant supervisor.
- Coach and mentor lower-level instrument fitters.
- Ensure deliverables are completed per project schedules.
- Act as backup to Assembly Supervisor when needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 0 – 6 years of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience in instrumentation fitting and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret lay specifications and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
