As a Designer, your day is a dynamic blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision, where you bring designs to life using AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
- Creative Design & Drafting Excellence: Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D. Understand AutoCAD national standards. Display high attention to detail and perform peer checks for other designers
- Client Collaboration & Site Engagement: Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports. Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation and coordination
- Quality Assurance & Leadership Impact: Conduct self-checks of created models, drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product. May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership. Communicate internally with engineers and designers and maintain high level of organization
- Safety and Standards Adherence: Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives
- Time Management & Efficiency: Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years of design experience
- OR Associate's Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design experience
- OR minimum of 10 years of experience as a designer
- Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software
- AutoCAD and Smart Plant experience is required
- Preferred experience with Plant 3D, or Revit
- Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Electrical Design codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
- Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
