Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quality Technician can leverage their skills and experience to support the implementation of this new product line. This position with require a self-driven individual that has the ability to interpret designs and workmanship standards. Holds the ability to create and invent new processes and practices enhancing the effectiveness of day to day operations and product life. Has the ability to work closely with engineers, production supervisors, and manufacturing personnel to evaluate product and design quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal process product audits
- Coordinate timely resolution of nonconforming products
- Conduct various gate inspections and communicating results with leadership and oeprators
- Maintain and assist in the development of process measures and KPIs
- Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to improve design and products features
- Provide manufacturing and technical support
- Ability to research and investigate process breakdowns providing new solutions and practices
- Highly qualified individuals may include experience in the development of new product lines and implementation in new quality practices
- Highly qualified candidates hold experience with the utilization of tools such as PFMEAs, 5 Whys, and/or 8D
- Maintain tooling and calibration documentation and schedules
- Create and implement QMS related procedures & work instructions.
- Train experienced and new personnel
- Lead and conduct safety walks and improvement projects
- Coordinate with customers as required to evaluate product field data and take steps with internal customers to communicate results
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. with 3 years’ experience with Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Highly qualified individuals may include Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess working knowledge in applying specific inspection techniques, use of hand gages and related inspection equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Above average organizational and time management skills.
- Above average computer skills, including a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate quality related projects, policies, and other information at all levels within the company.
- Ability to coordinate projects or assignments with all departments and levels of the organization.
Position Demands:
Physical Demands (essential functions)
- Climbing, Bending, Lifting, Pulling and Pushing.
- Ability to handle lifting large equipment
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility
- Outside weather conditions associated with precipitation of temperature
Work Hazards:
- Electrical Hazards including following Lockout / Tagout processes
- Overhead equipment and crane operation
- Working from elevated platforms and lifts – utilization of fall arrest equipment
- Lifting of heavy equipment – must have the ability to lift 35 lbs
- Exterior weather conditions
