Our Miami office is seeking a Project Manager / Associate with a strong design background to join our team. This is a key leadership role for a creative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to award-winning projects of varying scale and complexity.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager will be referred to as Associate and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful delivery of Landscape Architecture projects from inception to completion. This position requires a professional with strong leadership & design skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects effectively across all phases. The Associate will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As a boutique studio, we foster a collaborative environment where adaptability and initiative are essential. Associates take on a wide range of responsibilities, working closely with both senior leadership and junior staff. Beyond project management, this role includes mentoring and guiding younger team members, cultivating an environment where knowledge is shared and the entire team grows together.
RESPONSABILITIES
Design & Project Leadership
- Lead projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring design integrity and technical excellence at every stage.
- Translate conceptual ideas into detailed construction drawings and specifications.
- Provide design solutions with creativity and rigor, balancing aesthetics, function, constructability and sustainability.
- Oversee preparation of presentation materials, renderings, and client deliverables at the highest level of graphic quality.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, addressing concerns proactively, and providing regular updates on project status. Collaborate closely with Directors when challenges arise, handling all interactions with professionalism, discretion, and consistency to minimize confusion and conflicting information.
Project Management
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources with accountability to clients and Directors.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers).
- Oversee compliance with codes, permitting requirements, and quality standards.
- Manage workflow, assign responsibilities, and provide mentorship to junior designers.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential issues that could impact project outcomes and proactively address them to mitigate risks.
- Information Reporting: Report issues that could result in potential legal circumstances.
- Oversee multiple project deadlines including deliverables, scheduling, and major client correspondence. Ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Ensure adherence to workflow management processes within the project.
· With support from Directors, for responsible resource planning and designer hours allocation to optimize project efficiency.
Client Relations
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and alignment of expectations.
- Attend and lead client and consultant meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Represent Enea at site visits, design presentations, and project reviews.
Team Development & Studio Culture
- Mentor and guide junior staff, providing feedback, support, and professional development.
- Contribute to a collaborative studio culture that values design, innovation, and shared success.
· Emotionally Intelligent Management: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and encourages open communication, skill building, and knowledge sharing. Navigates conflict professionally with minimal negative impact to a project.
· Effective Team Communication: Work closely with project directors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project plans and strategies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
· Training and Development: Foster development of less experienced staff through mentoring, onboarding, and continued professional growth. Collaborate with division director on training opportunities and suggestions.
· Effective Delegation: Effectively delegates tasks to designers and junior project managers through thoughtful and pro-active planning, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
· Performance Management: Manage teams and provide people support, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and annual performance reviews.
· Leadership Presence: Able to influence teams through respect and trust. Acts as a role model of company values, upholding policies and procedures. Makes their best effort to keep in mind the best interest for the greater organization when making and communicating decisions.
Financial
· Budget Management: Actively manages project budgets, expenses, and financial performance to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints. Identify opportunities to optimize project costs and resource utilization while maintaining quality standards. Works with Project Directors as needed.
· Administrative Duties: Review and approve project invoices, change orders, and other financial documents by deadlines provided. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks related to finance, including time-tracking, expense documentation, and budget management.
Marketing and public relations
· Brand Ambassador: Promote the company's brand and image during ASLA events, conferences, vendor meetings, and other events.
Organizational leadership
· Decision-Making: Make decisions regarding projects and organizational initiatives that align with organizational values and principles
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program (Architecture degree with strong landscape experience also considered). Licensing encouraged.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in project management role.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end residential design and/or complex mixed-use, resort, and condominium projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp (preferred); familiarity with Revit a plus.
- Exceptional design sensibility paired with strong technical knowledge of building products, construction details, and Florida plant materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to lead client meetings and present confidently.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction documents, planting, and detailing. (We may ask to see sample work during interviews)
