Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations to ensure high availability, redundancy, and optimal performance across enterprise networks.
- Configure and manage dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP) and redundant gateway solutions (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP) to maintain resilient and fault-tolerant operations.
- Deploy and maintain firewall policies, NAT rules, and access control lists (ACLs) to enforce security standards and protect network traffic.
- Manage and optimize wireless infrastructure by tuning Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) settings, applying RF design best practices, and resolving coverage, roaming, and throughput issues.
- Implement and administer Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, including device profiling, posture assessment, and role-based access policies to strengthen endpoint security.
- Support network segmentation using VRFs and contribute to foundational BGP and MPLS configurations for multi-tenant and scalable environments.
- Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and proactively identify and resolve issues to reduce downtime and improve user experience.
- Participate in change control processes, maintain accurate network documentation, and contribute to design reviews and technical discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, facilitating knowledge transfer, and supporting team development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Proven expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, trunking, STP, and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP).
- Experience with high-availability solutions such as HSRP, VRRP, GLBP.
- Strong knowledge of firewall technologies, NAT, and ACLs.
- Hands-on experience with Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and wireless network optimization.
- Demonstrated experience with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions and endpoint security policies.
- Familiarity with VRFs, BGP, and MPLS in scalable or multi-tenant environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to network monitoring and performance tuning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience mentoring or guiding less experienced team members.
- Willingness to work onsite for the duration of the engagement.
