Access Control Technicians II and III

We are looking for Site Point of Contact/Programmers/Fabricators for Security. The candidate must earn and possess the skills required to function as a contributing member or a lead of a technical team. Security Technician 2 and 3 possess 2 to 20 years of experience in the security industry, excellent problem-solving skills, managing small crews, programming, and fabricating frames *** indicates level of pay variance

Technical Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Copper cable installation including overhead cable supports (j-hooks, cable tray, ladder rack, etc.). Installation of sleeves and firestop as required.

2. Routing and bundling (dressing) cables at closet, making proper heads for pulling cable.

3. Reading Blueprints, determining/installing service loop and cable labeling and labeling the plans.***
4. Understanding which cable out of composite cable goes to which device, 18x4, 22x2, 22x6, 22x4.

5. Have extensive knowledge of what an access control system and can land cables on any board, understands readers, inputs, outputs dry and wet contacts, resistors, diodes, REX and DC as well as comfortable mounting cabinets and can program on multiple systems and can hand over a turnkey solution***

6.Can modify door frames for strikes including but not limited to Hes 9400 and Hes 5000C ***

7. Have extensive knowledge of what an intrusion system is, expected to understand where to mount devices like motion PIRs, Door contacts, and can program the dives into the system and hand over a turnkey solution***

8. Have a basic knowledge on both IP and analog CCTV systems and can add cameras into any 8. existing NVR/DVR with the same brand as well as having any brand on any other system.***

9. Knowledge of Port forwarding, FTP server setting up

10.Swapping and formatting hard drives for NVRs

11. Changing out boards for access control and Intrusion

12. Programming Ubiquity radios for point-to-point applications
13. Have a basic understanding of the comparison of a circuit that is NO (normally open) NC (normally closed)
14. Understand Life safety fail secure and fail-safe operations. ***

15. Is fully capable of fishing door frames for strikes, mag locks, and cards readers

16. Understands what color cable goes and why for REX, Push to exit button, card readers, strikes and how to properly wire a mag lock

17. Adhere to and participate in all ESC, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.

18. Understand and explain importance of safety and professionalism to ESC and its customers.
19. Other responsibilities as assigned.

20. Must be able to travel throughout various cities throughout Arizona.

21. Must have their own tools.

Expected training to be completed before advancement:

 OSHA 30

Certified Installer on at least one IP camera system level 2

Obtains a minimum of (3) Access control system certifications.

Obtains at least (2) Intrusion certifications.

Some type of Networking certification.

BTR controller certification

Physical and Mental Requirements:

·         Must be self-motivated, positive in approach and professional.

·         Must be able to adapt to changing situations required by business needs.

·         Must be able to follow instructions and implement project processes.

·         Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.

·         Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.

·         Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.

·         Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:

·         High School diploma or GED equivalency

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunications/security or related technical field.

·         Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

·         Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.

·         Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
