Role Description
The Maintenance Supervisor / Facility Manager oversees all maintenance operations across multiple facilities, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safe operations, and efficient workflow. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong leadership and planning skills, managing both daily maintenance tasks and long‑term facility improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a skilled technician with experience in Robotic plasma machine operation, CNC equipment, shears, welding systems, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial machinery, supported by the computer proficiency and leadership ability needed to guide a maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities for multiple locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Perform and supervise maintenance on all equipment including Robotic plasma cutters, shears, welding equipment, forklifts, compressors, and material‑handling systems (overhead cranes).
- Develop, implement, and track preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians; assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues quickly and effectively.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers for repairs, inspections, and equipment purchases.
- Conduct equipment and facility safety audits and maintain documentation. Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are up to date and being followed.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare‑parts inventory, and procurement.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and facility reports using CMMS or similar software.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise in:
Plasma cutting systems
Hydraulic and mechanical shears
Forklifts and industrial vehicles
HVAC, Co-Ray Vac system
Overhead Crane systems
Welding equipment (MIG/TIG/Stick)
Electrical systems
- Computer Skills including Maintenance software, Microsoft Suites, email, and digital reporting tools.
- Leadership Experience managing maintenance teams or facility operations.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety, lockout/tagout, and OSHA standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between two facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
- Certifications such as CMM, CMRP, AWS welding certifications, or forklift trainer credentials.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and work in tight spaces when necessary.
- Regular travel between two facilities.
- Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, sit, climb.
