Endoscopy Center of West Monroe, an outpatient ASC is seeking a Medical Assistant, Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 3 PM performing GI (Gastrointestinal) endoscopic procedures. Job Responsibilities:
- Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient.
- Collects specimens such as biopsies, etc. and appropriately labels and sends them to the correct place for testing.
- Assists the LPN, RN or the physician with procedures as needed.
- Monitors patients visually and with vital sign equipment other than EKG equipment (B/P, Pulse oximeter, etc.) and reports any unusual conditions or changes to the RN.
- Assists with the disinfections and cleaning of stretchers/equipment.
- Performs appropriate bedside cleaning of endoscopy and accessories using proper techniques/chemicals per manufacturer guidelines while avoiding contamination of other areas and equipment.
- Perform any additional duties or functions as delegated by the RN in the care of patients or the function of the unit.
