Job Summary:
Ann Arbor Urgent Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic urgent care team. In this fast-paced clinical environment, the Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting providers with patient care, performing clinical and administrative duties, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and other treatments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, COVID, urinalysis).
- Collect and process specimens for lab testing.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the clinic.
Administrative Duties:
- Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
- Assist with patient follow-up, test result calls, and documentation.
- Support front desk staff with clerical tasks as needed.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper stocking of exam rooms.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- MA Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency room, or outpatient setting preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language) a plus.
- Ability to work on weekends, holidays, or extended hours if required.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
