Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a Strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and clinical procedures. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Familiar with Oral Sedation and IV Sedation is desired
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take X-ray 's and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as PBS while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing patient flow, and supporting procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist in medical documentation related to patient health history and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure effective infection control practices and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Serve as a dental receptionist when needed by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient communications to enhance the overall patient experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in Endodontic procedures.
- Proficiency with PBS
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards; familiarity with medical imaging technology including 3D scanners is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices
- Additional duties as deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of dental terminology and endodontic procedures.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Hours - 7:15am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday. 6:45am-4pm Friday.
