Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our Finance & Accounting team. As the AP Manager at EPP, you will oversee our company’s AP operations, lead and develop the AP team, and partner with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient, accurate, and policy-compliant payment processes. This is an onsite, Monday through Friday position located in Brentwood, TN - with 3 days per week required in-office and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the AP department and provide leadership, mentorship, and support to AP staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and disbursements for all practice locations.
- Oversee invoice review, coding, and approvals in compliance with company policy and accounting period cutoffs.
- Monitor and forecast short-term cash requirements to support treasury management.
- Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of annual 1099 forms and compliance with tax reporting requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support ongoing process improvements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle, and Practice Management teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Set up new vendors, manage vendor relationships, and address escalated inquiries or payment issues.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and expense controls within the AP function.
- Review and approve expense reports and corporate card transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze AP operational metrics and financial reports for management.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures and participate in special projects or initiatives as needed.
AP Manager Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable or related financial operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Advanced knowledge of accounts payable processes, cash disbursements, and accounting principles
- Solid understanding of federal and state tax guidelines (IRS 1099/backup withholding, use tax)
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Bill.com highly preferred), banking platforms, and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills required)
- Experience with multi-location or multi-entity organizations preferred; healthcare/professional services a plus
