JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the data entry and maintenance of patient insurance information in software system. Compiles all necessary follow up information and communicates with insurance providers. Processes all incoming insurance payments. Maintains files of all written correspondence. Processes all dental/medical claims. Corresponds with patients and front desk staff to gather pertinent claim processing information.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Enter and log insurance payments into Practice Management system.
- Process incoming EOB’s (explanations of benefits).
- Gather necessary information from front desk personnel to process claims.
- Enter all new insurances in system.
- Process secondary insurance claims.
- File all corresponding paperwork.
- Follow up on claim status with insurance companies.
- Field all pertinent phone calls.
- Process Dental/Medical insurance claims.
- Submit W9 forms for providers when requested.
- File paper electronic claims daily.
- Scanning required information into the practice management system.
- Submitting required attachments through NEA.
- Maintain a balanced workload caseload and organize the flow of work appropriately.
- Ensures effective communication with all satellite offices.
- Oversee return of insurance overpayments.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of prior business office experience in a healthcare/dental/medical or finance environment is preferred. Dental Office experience highly preferred.
