Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health records (EHR) systems and coordinate with medical staff to optimize daily calendars.
- Handle incoming phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries related to appointments, billing, and general clinic information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and health information regulations.
- Process insurance claims, verify coverage details, and manage third-party billing in accordance with managed care policies.
- Enter data accurately into healthcare management software, supporting revenue cycle management efforts.
- Facilitate internal communication among staff members to ensure seamless clinic operations and patient flow.
- Assist with health insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and follow-up on outstanding claims or payments.
Requirements
- Prior experience in healthcare administration or as a Medical Receptionist is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of health insurance plans, managed care processes, and third-party billing procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction and internal correspondence.
- Ability to type quickly and accurately to support data entry tasks; familiarity with revenue cycle management is advantageous.
