Role Description The Medical Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Memphis, TN. This role supports clinicians by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with procedures related to endocrine and weight loss care. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing appointment flow, updating and maintaining medical records, handling prescription refill requests, and ensuring accurate use of medical terminology in documentation. The Medical Assistant also provides direct patient care such as patient intake, education on visit procedures, and coordination of follow-up visits. Additional tasks may include administrative support in the medical office, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient information.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Medical Assisting and Patient Care, with the ability to support clinical workflows and provide compassionate, professional service.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Medical Terminology to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with providers and staff.
  • Candidates should possess skills in working within a Medical Office environment, including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Candidates should possess skills in handling Medical Records, including electronic health record (EHR) use, data entry, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Candidates should ideally have a Medical Assistant certification or equivalent training, strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Previous experience in endocrinology, weight management, or a related specialty is beneficial, as is proficiency with common EHR systems and basic computer applications.
