Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
- Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff, utilizing knowledge of animal behavior and physiology.
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment to aid in accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and administering medications as directed by veterinarians.
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and other oral health treatments.
- Document medical records accurately, including details of treatments, procedures, and patient progress to ensure seamless communication within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant with knowledge of veterinary terminology.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging such as X-ray technology, and veterinary critical care practices.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist effectively during medical procedures.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and maintain aseptic environments during surgeries or treatments.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members professionally and compassionately.
Pay: From $15.83 per hour
