Responsibilities
- Set up and operate honing and grinding machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions to produce precise parts.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Adjust machine settings based on measurements and inspection results to maintain accuracy throughout production runs.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of honing and grinding equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on tooling setups, finishes required and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating Honing and Grinding machinery
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Skilled in using hand tools, tooling setups, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of assembly processes, quality inspection procedures, and the use of basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to machining operations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
