The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for leading and overseeing complex reimbursement processes at the hospital. This role includes in-depth analysis of reimbursement data, compliance with healthcare regulations, and the development of strategies to maximize revenue through effective billing and reimbursement practices.
What You Will Do
- Conduct in-depth analysis of healthcare reimbursement data, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, to identify trends, opportunities, and discrepancies.
- Stay current with federal and state regulations related to healthcare reimbursement and ensure the hospital's practices align with all applicable guidelines.
- Lead efforts to maximize revenue by optimizing reimbursement rates, identifying opportunities for increased reimbursement, and negotiating favorable contract terms with payers.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and timely submission of cost reports for Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accuracy.
- Play a key role in contract negotiations with payers, securing advantageous reimbursement terms and rates.
- Lead the analysis of claim denials, implement strategies to reduce denials, and manage the resolution of complex denial issues.
- Generate and present reports on reimbursement metrics, financial performance, and key performance indicators to senior leadership.
- Assess the financial impact of proposed changes to reimbursement rates, contracts, and regulatory updates.
- Coordinate and assist in financial and compliance audits related to reimbursement, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior analysts and hospital staff on reimbursement-related matters.
- Education: Bachelors Degree Required, Masters Degree Preferred
- Certification: Certified Professional Biller, Certified Reimbursement Professional, Preferred
- Experience: 5 years, Experience in healthcare reimbursement, financial analysis, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role. Expertise in financial analysis, data management, and the use of financial software and spreadsheet applications.
