Position Highlights
- Position: Histology Technician
- Full Time & PRN
- Locations available may include : Evanston Hospital, NCH, Arlington Heights & Swedish Hospital, Chicago
- Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
- Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
- Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded
- Recuts of tissue blocks
- Special Stains
- IF cryotomy of skin specimens
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
- Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
- Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
