Encova Insurance is currently seeking a Developer for our Charleston, West Virginia, or Columbus, Ohio location. This is a hybrid opportunity and we are open to hiring at the Developer I level based on qualifications and experience.
This position reports to the Director, Technology & Product Delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrate continued technical skill growth.
- Learn and apply code standards within a primary technical domain. Demonstrate continued growth in the use of developer environment tools, ancillary software tools and technology.
- Demonstrate continued knowledge growth on the application(s) you are assigned.
- Participate in team meetings and project scrum meetings.
- Learn and demonstrate development and administrative processes and procedures.
- Write, test and document code needed to implement approved requests for changes.
- Test and debug new or modified code to verify its accuracy and completeness. Great at communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Assist peers in root cause analysis of production incidents.
- Develop a true understanding of your role and how it impacts the team, division and company.
- Understand how your attitude impacts the company and how your actions contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Through project work and daily interactions, continue to develop understanding of what success means to you, your team and your customers.
- Grow your general insurance knowledge.
- Consistently engage in behaviors that produce great experiences and outcomes.
- BS/BA or greater in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Must possess a general understanding of technical skills, programming languages and tools used by the company.
- Logical thinking in making decisions, completing work tasks and solving problems.
- Ability to achieve continuous improvement in your technical and business acumen skillset.
- Must possess good written communication skills.
