Luxury Retail Sales Associate (Full-time and/or Part-Time)

Encounter Boutique (located on Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY) is looking for a full & part-time Retail Sales Associate who will be responsible for driving both in-store and online sales by providing excellent customer service and styling services for luxury designer fashion brands. Candidate will be responsible for building relationships with clients from around the world who return to Encounter for rare designer clothing and one-on-one styling services. We are looking for a "team-player" with a bright personality who loves c fashion, sales and styling. The ideal candidate has a passion for designer fashion and experience in retail sales or a strong desire to learn. Candidate must be a reliable and self-motivated, who can assist owner in daily processes of running day-to-day business. Responsibilities include, customer sales and service, helping to unpack and process inventory, shipping product to online consumer, opening and closing boutique. Competitive wage and bonus compensation. Compensation is negotiable for ideal candidate depending on experience and includes quarterly bonuses. Other benefits include paid time off, health insurance stipend, vacation and holidays, store discounts and “Encounter Bucks” which are extra bonuses that can be used to purchase attire. Schedule is negotiable, will likely include occasional or rotating Saturday shift. Employees expected not to take vacation during high-season which includes the months of June, July and August, driven by summer tourism and opening of Saratoga Race Course.

REQUIREMENTS:

Possess a strong drive, ambition, and passion for overall fashion. Intuitive understanding of each customer's unique style to provide a truly memorable "encounter" for all our customers.

Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with customers, associates and partners. Possess and demonstrate your own sense of style and fashion in your work attire.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales and Service:

Demonstrate a high level of selling and customer service skills to achieve sales.

Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task and/or handle projects simultaneously.

Building Clientele:

Take an active role in assisting the management in growing our business.

Ensure exceptional selling connections that guarantee meaningful experiences and build relationships with clientele.

Fashion Awareness:

Maintain professional appearance that reflects the brand image.

Aware of fashion trends, particularly the brand vision for each new designer we carry.

Show initiative in learning about all new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, fashion, etc.

Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Degree or equivalent.

Women clothing retailing experience preferred.

Work a flexible schedule, sometimes including weekends and/or holidays.

Requires ability to move about store including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, carrying, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching out with the body, arms, or legs, pulling and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Sometimes these movements are made quickly and repeatedly.

Operating computer and point of sales systems with intermediate computer and keyboarding skills.
