Project Manager | Plumbing P.E.
Encotech is hiring a licensed Plumbing Engineer (P.E.) with at least 6 years of experience to lead plumbing-focused engineering tasks across diverse projects. The role includes system design, analysis, plan development, and construction administration. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and minimal need for supervision. As lead engineer and primary MEP contact, responsibilities include guiding project delivery, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and solving technical challenges. Strong communication skills are essential. This position offers opportunities for career advancement in a collaborative and technically driven environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Design Oversight: This role involves performing engineering calculations, preparing cost estimates, and conducting preliminary studies to support new project designs. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, developing original designs, preparing plans and specifications, and ensuring fieldwork aligns with project documents. The position requires interpreting field notes, managing project records, using computer-aided design tools, and ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Project Planning The role involves managing moderately complex engineering projects from planning through completion. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, setting schedules, and overseeing team performance to ensure on-time delivery. The position serves as a liaison with clients, contractors, and other agencies, ensuring coordination and customer satisfaction. The role also includes quality assurance oversight, developing and refining policies and procedures, and preparing and interpreting engineering plans and specifications while communicating technical requirements to contractors.
- Business Development & Client Relations: Responsible for supporting firm marketing efforts, estimating, and securing contracts, this role refines pursuit strategies by market segment and individual opportunities in alignment with strategic plans. It leads to the development and implementation of an aggressive business plan focused on leveraging existing relationships and building new ones. The position also promotes cross-selling by introducing the firm’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services to existing clients and supporting other technical departments in expanding their service reach.
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 6 years of experience, though 8 to 10 years is preferred. Candidates with a Master’s degree need a minimum of 5 years, with 7 to 9 years preferred. A Professional Engineer license is required, and project management certification may be necessary. The role involves leadership responsibilities, including assigning and evaluating work, mentoring, and possibly recommending dismissals. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is expected, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with corporate managers, end-users, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
