We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Data Entry Specialist to join our dynamic wound care team. As a Medical Data Entry Specialist for Wound Care, you will work closely with wound care physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately, and that patient demographics are entered accurately. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and efficient medical record keeping, allowing our team to focus on delivering high-quality wound care services.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Record Management: Organize and maintain patient consent forms, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Update and retrieve medical information as needed.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with wound care physicians and other healthcare professionals to support the flow of patient care. Assist with managing incoming and outgoing communications, scheduling appointments, and coordinating patient referrals and follow-up appointments.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of medical documentation. Review medical records for inconsistencies or missing information, flagging potential errors or discrepancies for review by the healthcare team.
- Compliance: Adhere to legal and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements related to medical recordkeeping and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical scribe training program is preferred.
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role is highly desirable, especially in wound care or a related specialty.
- Proficient in medical terminology, abbreviations, and EMR systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive patient information.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
