What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor position at Encore Performing Arts Studio?
Role Description This on-site Dance Instructor role at Encore Performing Arts Studio has two locations. One in Southern Pines, NC and one in Cameron, NC. The Dance Instructor will plan and lead engaging dance classes for students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on proper technique, creativity, and performance skills. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching group and private classes, demonstrating choreography, providing individualized feedback, and maintaining a safe, supportive studio environment. The instructor will collaborate with studio leadership to develop class schedules, prepare students for recitals, and communicate progress and expectations clearly to students and families. Additional duties may include assisting with studio events, rehearsals, and administrative tasks related to class management and student registration.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Dance Instruction and Dance Education, with experience designing and delivering structured curricula for diverse age groups.
- Candidates should possess demonstrated Teaching skills, including classroom management, clear communication, and the ability to motivate and support learners at different levels.
- Candidates should possess advanced Dance skills in one or more styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary) and a solid understanding of technique, conditioning, and performance quality.
- Candidates should possess a good sense of Music, including rhythm, musicality, and the ability to select and interpret music that enhances choreography and instruction.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior studio or school teaching experience, experience preparing students for performances or competitions, strong interpersonal and communication skills, reliability and punctuality, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Relevant training such as a degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Education, or equivalent professional experience.
