Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Utility Piping Technician to join our manufacturing team in Millsap, Texas. This position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, assembling, and installing utility piping systems used on natural gas compression packages and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial piping or pipe fabrication, and the ability to read piping drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install utility piping according to drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings, and fabrication blueprints.
• Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and prepare piping materials for fabrication and assembly.
• Install valves, fittings, flanges, pipe supports, and other piping components.
• Perform pipe layout and verify measurements and dimensions prior to fabrication.
• Assist with air testing of completed piping systems.
• Inspect completed piping work for proper fit, alignment, and overall quality.
• Safely operate pipe fabrication equipment, grinders, threading machines, band saws, hand tools, and other shop equipment.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment as required.
• Work closely with welders, mechanics, and other shop personnel to complete piping assemblies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify and report quality concerns, material issues, or discrepancies to the Shop Manager.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings and P&IDs.
• Basic knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication methods.
• Experience using common measuring and fabrication tools.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred

• Previous experience in industrial piping, pipe fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience fabricating utility piping for natural gas compression equipment.
• Experience with threaded, flanged, and welded piping systems.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 Process Piping standards.
• Previous experience in the oil & gas or industrial manufacturing industry.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach.
• Frequently use hand tools, power tools, and pipe fabrication equipment.
• Work around heavy equipment, piping materials, cranes, and industrial machinery.
• Work in awkward positions or at elevated heights as required.
• Must be able to wear required PPE and safely perform all essential job functions.

Work Environment

This position is based in Encore's Millsap, Texas manufacturing facility. Employees work in a fast-paced, production-driven industrial environment fabricating and assembling utility piping systems for natural gas compression packages and related equipment.
