Orchestra & Private Strings/Piano Teacher – Part-Time

Encore Music, a thriving and community-rooted music school with two vibrant locations, is seeking an experienced Orchestra Teacher to lead our beginning orchestra classes and teach in-home private strings and piano lessons.
This role combines the joy of working with young ensembles in the afternoon with the opportunity to provide one-on-one instruction to dedicated private students in their homes. We are looking for a highly skilled, versatile, and reliable educator who is committed to helping students grow, both musically and personally.
Schedule:

Monday–Thursday | 2:45–4:15 PM – Beginning Orchestra (on site)
- In-home private music lessons after orchestra classes (schedule coordinated with families)
Compensation & Benefits:
- $40/hour starting rate

Who We’re Looking For:

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred)

Experience: Prior teaching experience required; orchestra or ensemble leadership a plus

Teaching Style: Ability to tailor instruction to each student while meeting program goals

Classroom Management: Skilled at maintaining an organized, respectful, and focused learning environment

Lesson Planning: Able to design engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans for both group and private instruction

Professionalism: Timely, reliable, and consistent—committed to long-term student growth

Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, encouraging, and able to connect with students and families
