The Club at Berry Creek is looking for an experienced 1st Assistant Golf Professional to join a dynamic team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The 1st Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for promoting the game of golf through leadership and an operational structure that provides a “first class” environment for our guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Club Management
- Assists the Director of Golf Ops with all Golf Shop, Outside Guest Services, Driving Range, and Cart Maintenance staff
- Provide a personable and professional golf environment that is highly focused on providing superior customer service at all times
- Work with assistant professionals to develop golf programs and services that foster a passion for golf, good sportsmanship, and commitment to our Club.
Golf Shop Operations
- Acts as Administrator for the Golf Shop POS System
- Ensure to provide the appropriate training to the staff
- Cover shift at Pro Shop as needed
- Coordinates activities of the Golf Shop personnel to assist in merchandise sales, tagging, and stocking
- Works with Assistant Golf Professionals to ensure the tee sheet is managed properly
- Handle and resolve customer complaints or issues when arises
Merchandising
- Works with the Merchandiser to assure the Golf Shop is well stocked with the appropriate amount of inventory.
- Assists the Merchandiser in the scheduling and processing of the quarterly physical inventory.

- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to adapt communication style to suit different audience
- Effective facilitation skills to facilitate a presentation

- Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to work with the diverse working environment such as age, cultures, languages, and genders
- Must have strong customer service skill. Previous experience in resolving customer complaints is highly desirable

- Must demonstrate a positive attitude at all times
- Must provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must have good standing PGA Certification
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekdays, weekends and holiday based on the business needs
- Must be able to both indoors with A/C and outdoors
- General Office Equipment: printers, copiers, facsimile, laminating machine, shredders, PC (Windows, Microsoft Office suite)
- Golf Operation Equipment: Golf Carts, POS system, Cashier, GPS systems, Ball Pickers
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, stretch, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least three (3) years of head golf professional experience or an Assistant that has been working under a head golf professional for a minimum three (3) years
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- Directly To: Director of Golf Operations/ General Manager & Assistant General Manager
- Supervises: Assistant Golf Professionals, Outside Staff, Merchandise Manager, Shop Staff
