What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative and Performing Arts Instructors position at Encore Creative Center?
Overview
It's hiring season at Encore for the new year (2026-2027 and beyond)!
Ideal Candidates will be positive, professional, and experienced in their artistic medium(s), whether on the page or on the stage. They will be able to bring their own creative curriculum ideas to fill out Encore’s class templates and professional standards. The Encore instructor team loves collaboration and comes with a team-player mindset, modeling excellence and joy to students with strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with results-oriented goals, process-based whole-person development, and joyful creativity.
- Teach a variety of visual arts techniques, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and /or mixed media. Or teach a variety of technical arts via STEM or media classes. And/or musical or theatrical arts!
- Provide constructive feedback on student work to help them improve their skills and artistic expression.
- Be part of center-wide media projects and showcases to display student artwork and celebrate their achievements.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages collaboration, respect, and open communication among students.
- Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary projects that enhance the learning experience.
Requirements
- A degree in a related field is preferred. Significant track record of successful arts teaching is also considered.
- Strong knowledge of various techniques within your professional field, along with the ability to teach them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- A passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the community.
Pay: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour
