If you have a passion for working in a creative environment with older adults, then this Clinical Counseling position is for you! It is a part time position. This position will be located at Altercare Newark South (AL) (17 Forry St. Newark, OH 43055) and Altercare Newark North (151 Price Rd. Newark, OH 43055).
Position Responsibilities For a Counselor
Demonstrates solid therapeutic and evaluating skills, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and positive problem-solving skills. Abides by the EncompassCare and/or professional code of ethics.
Education/Experience: Requires an active state license to practice as a social worker or professional counselor in Ohio. Experience in providing counseling/therapy services to older adults preferred but not required.

- Conducts diagnostic assessments/updates, develops/revises/implements individualized treatment plans, and provides individual and/or group therapy to residents of nursing homes.
- Utilizes outcomes tools to monitor effectiveness of treatment.
- Consults and collaborates with other interdisciplinary staff as needed.
- Maintains active licensure to practice as a counselor or social worker.
