Facilities Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting Facilities Manager with maintenance of all buildings and equipment owned and/or operated by Encompass, assuring that they are properly maintained to provide a safe, clean and orderly environment for children. This individual will perform general maintenance tasks at all of Encompass’s centers.

Essential Job Functions

• Carry out maintenance requests as scheduled or directed by the Facilities Manager
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
• Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds
• Ability to safely operation lawn and snow removal equipment
• Support the Encompass mission, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality in all encounters
  
  

Performance Objectives

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs at all Encompass locations
• Ensure lawn maintenance and snow removal meet agency needs
• Assist with maintenance of Encompass owned vehicles and outdoor playground equipment
• Assume Facilities Manager’s functions in his absence
• Serve as backup to Transport Service Provider, upon request
• Work cooperatively with support departments regarding facility and maintenance issues
• Complete accurately and on time all required reports and/or necessary office recordkeeping
• Exhibit agency values in daily work and demonstrate commitment to the agency mission
• Perform other related duties as requested
  
  

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of related experience in facilities maintenance preferred
• Advanced knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques
• Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license
